About Meditation Timer (mindfuljoy.app)
A simple, free meditation timer.
Meditation Timer (mindfuljoy.app) is a free meditation timer that runs in your web browser. It requires no account and keeps your settings on your own device. The site is supported by advertising and by optional contributions. Choose a length, settle in, and let the bells keep time.
Features
- Timer: Sessions from 5 to 60 minutes, a custom length of up to four hours, or an open-ended mode that counts up until you stop. Options include a preparation delay, start and end bells (one to five strikes each), bell volume, and interval bells at repeating or custom times.
- Breathe: A guided breathing pacer with box breathing, 4-7-8, and an even five-second coherent pattern.
- Reflect: Short prompts for reflection before or after a session.
- Themes: Eleven color themes, selected from the gear icon at the top of the page. The High Contrast theme uses pure black and white for maximum legibility and efficient display on OLED screens. Sage is the default.
- Saved preferences: Your settings are stored on your own device, so Meditation Timer (mindfuljoy.app) is ready the way you left it.
- Accessibility: Keyboard shortcuts (Space to start or pause, R to reset, B to open Bell Settings), screen reader announcements for session changes, and visible focus indicators.
- Mobile: Designed for phones, and keeps the screen awake during a session where the browser permits.

Source collection. The recordings and their license information were obtained from the open-source meditation project by nyxkn on GitHub, whose documentation lists the freesound.org source and license for each sample. That project made minor adjustments to the samples for consistency.
Modifications. For use in Meditation Timer (mindfuljoy.app), the recordings were trimmed, volume-normalized, faded at the end, converted to mono MP3, and embedded in the page so that no additional downloads are required. Beyond these adjustments, the recordings are unaltered.
